St John the Baptist, Elmore

St John the Baptist was the cousin of Jesus. He lived in the desert and called people to repent and to be baptised in the river Jordan. In this way he prepared the way for Jesus to come. At our Church we try to make space for people to encounter Jesus, in our worship (every Sunday, 2nd and 4th Sundays 9.30am, 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays 4pm) and in our welcome. John was executed by King Herod because John criticised his unlawful marriage – so it’s perhaps no surprise that our Church is committed to marriage, hosting up to 20 each year. We have strong links with Elmore Court.
